Book is such a wonderful present for any child. For Kenyan child is extra special as books there are rare and expensive. We ship 30,000 of them, every year. You can help us establish another library used by 1,000 community children.

Situation
Books are extremely rare in Kenya, and their price means that parents can't afford to buy them. Libraries are located in major cities and are stocked with very old books. Reading as a leisure activity is uncommon and the literacy levels fall behind UK children. The UK has an excessive number of books that the readers no longer need, but it is not always easy to know what to do with them.
Solution
We take donated books and we ship them to Kenya. Once there the shipping container becomes a community led library offering free access to books to all. We ship 30,000 each year - some are used to form a new library, others are used to support our existing libraries, while others still are donated to schools, and community projects around Kenya.
