We are raising funds towards two of our key services - physiotherapy and hydrotherapy – which play a vital role in helping people cope with the daily challenges of living with MS. Both therapies are delivered at our Canterbury centre and people travel from across Kent and Medway for these services.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease affecting the brain and spinal cord causing problems with muscle movement, balance and vision. Currently there is no cure for MS. It is estimated more than 3,500 people are living with MS across Kent and Medway, with on average 15 people being diagnosed each month. Our physiotherapy and hydrotherapy services help people with MS to keep physically active, improving mobility and quality of life.
Physiotherapy improves fitness, chronic fatigue, balance, posture and reduces muscle spasticity for those with MS. Hydrotherapy enables people with MS who have mobility issues to move their limbs freely in our hydrotherapy pool. Often this is difficult or impossible when they are out of the water. Providing physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions at our centre can improve the physical and mental health of our members, ultimately leading to greater independence and enhanced quality of life.
