After 18 months of social isolation we want to bring entertainment, social interaction and laughter back to our clients and carers. This will include music therapy, tai-chi, dance, entertainers, reminiscence using virtual reality, crafts, visits to Kew Gardens, boat trips. All to improve wellbeing.

Homelink provides support and care to local people with a long-term illness, disability or mental health issue, thereby giving respite to their carers. Homelink also now supports carers directly, helping them with whatever is causing them stress. The Carers UK survey 2018 found that 25% of carers had not received a single day away from caring in five years and Covid 19 has made this even worse. Homelink can be a real life-line for carers.

Clients come to our centre to have a stimulating and sociable day with a home cooked meal. In 2020 and most of 2021 we couldn’t allow anyone outside of our ‘bubbles’ to come in to entertain clients, and funds from the Big Give will change this in 2022. We also provide direct carer support on a 1-1 basis offering advice, information and emotional support. Funds raised will allow us to organise outings and activities for carers and clients. Past outings have really lifted their spirits.
