MWB works with some of the poorest and most marginalised people in Eastern Europe. Our Soup Kitchens offer care for vulnerable, disabled, and marginalised people, who may have no other means of support – support that is particularly critical during the bitter winters of Eastern Europe.

Situation
Extreme poverty, war, and lack of state support have resulted in critical needs for a great number in Ukraine, the poorest country in Europe, where conflict has displaced 1.5 million people. Many suffer from malnourishment, loneliness and emotional trauma, and individuals may be forced to choose between eating and paying bills. Over the harsh winter months their needs are exacerbated, particularly amongst the elderly and disabled, unable to travel.
Solution
Mission Without Borders runs Soup Kitchens across Ukraine to provide hot meals 5-days a week to those in need, including those in severe poverty, homeless, elderly, and disabled. This includes a delivery service for those housebound or vulnerable. During winter, malnutrition is a particular concern and, as well as providing nutritious food, our Soup Kitchens provide emotional and spiritual support, and offer practical help that includes suppling medical needs and laundry service,
