We work with children and young people, aged 15-23, who have experienced trafficking and exploitation. By providing peer groups, education, healing activities, participation in our work and advocating for the rights of all children, we support young people to flourish and access stable futures.

    Situation

Child trafficking in the UK is growing. It is estimated that 5.5 million children are trafficked worldwide each year and in 2020 almost 5,000 children were identified as victims in the UK. These children are exceptionally vulnerable due to the nature of exploitation and the uncertainty of their status in the UK. Even after being identified as a victim of trafficking, they receive no specialist care, often having to face complex legal systems without the support of a parent or guardian.

    Solution

We run a Youth Programme for children and young people who have experienced trafficking and exploitation. Through this programme we deliver weekly youth groups which offer education, life skills workshops and healing activities, to help them overcome their experiences and build confidence. Young people are also able to become involved in our work through training professionals, directing projects, finding solutions, advising our work and advocating for the rights of child victims of trafficking.
