We aim to tackle youth unemployment. At 13.2% it is nearly triple the overall jobless total. Young people who face challenges and disadvantage in their lives find it harder to get the most out of school and prepare for their future. There is a lack of personalised and long term support available to young people which bridges the transition from education into employment. As a result of Covid young people who face disadvantage are even further behind in their education and preparedness for work.

More than 1000 young people in London, Nottingham and Kent are part of the FutureMe programme. They work with a dedicated coach from the age of 13, who provides five years of personalised support. Coaches are based in schools and work with small numbers of students to provide one-to-one and group coaching that supports them to overcome their challenges. Activities to open up the world of work such as mentoring, insight visits and skills workshops develop their confidence and the skills for work.
