Across East London, SCT supports people in recovery from homelessness and addiction to access the services that they need the most. We work with around 600 people a year, often with complex needs such as mental health issues or multiple addictions, to start their journey to recovery.

Recovery from addiction and homelessness is complex. There is no solution that fits everyone and a tailored range of approaches is required to tackle addiction and homelessness to ensure long-term recovery can be sustained. During the pandemic, an increase in people sleeping rough in London alongside an increase in problematic drinking, means that there will be a heightened demand for SCT’s range of services.

SCT takes a whole-person approach that ensures that we can tackle recovery at all stages. This includes serving meals at our drop-in centre, running a rehabilitation recovery hostel, offering training and development opportunities and delivering a Housing First initiative. By supporting SCT’s Christmas appeal, the money donated will go where the need is greatest. During a time of such uncertainty, SCT knows that we need to both continue and adapt our services to reach those most in need.
