Cambridge and its surrounding region have massive inequality in terms of health, wealth, life expectancy and access to educational opportunity. Covid has heightened this. This bursary programme uses SPF's educational expertise to help to address these inequalities. It has a profound impact on the young people offered this opportunity. These bursaries are creating personal success stories, but are also demonstrating to others, at NCA and elsewhere, that hard work and endeavour is rewarded.

The global pandemic has highlighted even more the need for SPF to develop its charitable programme. It has ambitious plans to make a step change in its impact in tackling inequality in the region. The bursary project is a well defined and tested programme with measurable results as a meaningful first step towards our ambitions. The first cohort have now completed their Sixth Form studies and their results and achievements and plans for University demonstrate the success of the programme.
