We are raising funds for CAPS’ peer support group programme. CAPS’ peer support groups help people living with HIV to live well and thrive, both practically and pastorally post-HIV diagnosis.

HIV stigma is a profound issue affecting people living with HIV, and often leads to a failure to engage with clinical care, adhere to treatment or live well with HIV. What’s more, many people living with HIV are excluded from participation in wider society and are isolated even within families and faith communities. With 70% of all people living with HIV in the UK saying they are religious or spiritual, we recognise that there is a specific need for pastoral and spiritual support programmes.

At CAPS we offer peer support groups in London, Manchester and online where people get together to enjoy meaningful encounters, going beyond the intellectual or merely knowledge-based, into the realm of relationship. CAPS members discuss matters of faith, their lives, their diagnoses and help support each other through the bright spots and dark patches of life.
