We urgently need to take serious action to tackle the climate crisis. At the same time, the pandemic has created an unemployment crisis. Communities hit by decades of low employment and dependence on low-skill, low-paid jobs are being worst affected. They risk being left further behind as we break from dirty industries. However, the voices of those communities are missing from the national conversation, and there is a lack of resources for those communities to create change themselves.

NEF research has identified a multi-billion pound investment package to create over one million low-carbon jobs throughout the country. We will help people to tell their stories about how this could transform their lives and communities in order to push the government to invest in a green economic recovery that benefits everyone. Our campaign will connect local, personal stories about employment, income and job security with the national and international picture on tackling the climate crisis.
