The pandemic has been hugely damaging for children's wellbeing and education. West London Zone helps those children who often fall below the radar to build the relationships and skills they need to get on track socially, emotionally and academically - empowering them to fulfil their potential

    Situation

The past year has been hugely challenging for young people in West London - where 1 in 5 children don’t get the support and opportunities they need to thrive. With schools closed for much of the year and clubs and activities greatly reduced, children have missed out on many opportunities and experiences. Their well-being and social skills have also been negatively affected.

    Solution

This year we will extend additional support, trips and activities throughout the summer, providing opportunities for children to have fun, learn new skills and boost their wellbeing - getting them back on track when schools return in September. Our aim is to offer children the opportunity to participate in sport, drama, music, art and crafts and a range of trips and visits, including kayaking and the zoo, as well as accessing some additional support from their Link Worker (their dedicated WLZ mentor) where needed.
