EMERGE is a place where all kinds of volunteers change the future every day. We REDUCE food waste by running FareShare Greater Manchester. We REUSE wood in our Touch Wood project, we RECYCLE everything from cardboard to laptops. 2020 was a tough year pls help us build back stronger so we can grow.

Situation
We are very proud of our FareShare team's achievements last year, distributing 2,700+ tonnes of food, and that EMERGE managed to keep going. But 2020 was very challenging. We stretched our capacity to its limits and have struggled to keep our teams connected. Hardship and climate change can't be vaccinated against so we need to boost our human capacity and to engage with more volunteers from all walks of life, and make sure all volunteers feel informed and supported. We can't grow without them.
Solution
We will increase the capacity of the EMERGE Volunteering team to recruit more volunteers, and try out new ways to help existing volunteers feel connected. We will ask the volunteers what information they would like to receive. Not everyone has a smart phone so we will trial different ways to communicate with each other.
