Developing positive parenting and independent life skills with young parents to enable them to nurture their relationships with their children so they remain safe, well cared for and have the ability to thrive. Young parents can experience isolation and loneliness when their life changes after having a baby. It is essential that they have the support they need to grow as a parent, develop confidence and build resilience to live independent lives ensuring that their children are protected.

Referred by health professionals, young parents are assigned to a key worker and integrated into weekly group support to build relationships with their peers and provide social interaction time for the children. The groups provide a safe environment for parents to share their worries and concerns and receive a much needed helping hand and listening ear. Each session focuses on a different theme to help parents develop their skills in parenting and support their aspirations for the future.
