The funding is for maintaining a lifeline of emergency food, healthy meals and activities to families facing desperate financial hardship and living in poverty in North Kensington. This will enable the continuation of our foodbank & help to combat holiday hunger.

Situation
The impact of the pandemic has led to sudden reductions in income for many and made it much more difficult for people to access food and necessities both physically and financially.The restrictions in mental health and wellbeing support services along with the drastic changes in everyday life have impacted those vulnerable and most at risk As a result, we have seen a 40 percent rise in demand from those that newly facing poverty, reliant on our service as a source for food and to prevent hunger.
Solution
The Dalgarno Trust Foodbank and Community Kitchen aims to support those most disadvantaged and ensure that everyone can access healthy food and support services aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing. We will provide daily meals over the summer for children and young people most in need and continue our vital foodbank services providing and delivering care packages in the community for those who have been disproportionately impacted by the effects of COVID-19 and poverty.
