1 in 3 people in Scotland are diagnosed with a mental health condition each year. NHS Scotland’s recent report highlighted that people in Grampian waited over 18 weeks for initial psychiatric support. Another showed that NHS Grampian has the second longest waiting time in Scotland with people waiting up to 603 days for mental health support. Due to the COVID-19, the current and future forecasted demand for support at one of our existing specialist homes is extremely high.

VSA plans to construct a purpose built 20 bed mental wellbeing facility in the heart of Aberdeen to support adults on their personal journey to recovery. Our new mental wellbeing build will provide supported living and transition services for 60 people; 20 residential places and a further 40 adults supported by outreach in their own homes.
