In many countries across sub-Sharan Africa to many bright young children have nothing to play with – absolutely nothing. This contrast with the stimulating, often over provided, toy boxes of children in Europe. For Datum this is hard to bear and with a relatively modest sum of money we can change this for the children of Chisala and the other villages surrounding it.

DATUM FOUNDATION is proposing to build a new CREATIVE LEARNING CENTRE in the heart of the village of Chisala in Northern Malawi. A site has been identified that lies between the existing Primary School and the newly constructed Secondary School (both previous Datum initiatives) that will allow all children of Chisala and the surrounding region will have access to facility. The group of buildings will have three elements: play, art and the preforming arts.
