Situation
ThinkForward is working to prevent youth unemployment. We work in London, Nottingham and Kent to ensure the young people most likely to drop out of school can enter employment, providing holistic, long-term support that previously didn’t exist. In the aftermath of covid-19, ThinkForward is needed more than ever. Disadvantaged young people have been shown to suffer the most, with one third of 18-24-year olds having lost their jobs or been furloughed and another third having their pay reduced.
Solution
ThinkForward will provide 900 at-risk young people in London, Nottingham and Kent with a dedicated coach. Through long-term one-to-one coaching, group work and employability activities, such as career talks, mentoring and skills workshops, young people are empowered to build aspirations and develop key life skills. Coaches will be there for young people both in and out of school, providing holistic support and helping them overcome the barriers they face to enable them to get into work.
