We are raising vital funds to ensure that we keep our Free Shop open and well stocked. The Shop gives refugee mums' and their babies essential goods (donated and bought) such as nappies, clothes, baby equipment, toiletries and so much more. We estimate the shop helps around 1,500 families each year.

Many refugees come to Athens having fled political, social or religious persecution, or war from places like Afghanistan, Syria, parts of Africa and Myanmar. Some of the women are pregnant or just given birth and forced to live in squalid camps, squats or increasingly on the streets, sleeping in parks and churches, eating from bins, putting their own lives and their newborn babies' lives in great danger.

CRIBS rents, furnishes and pays the bills for apartments so that women who are in their third trimester or have just given birth are able to have a place to call their own. We also provide food, access to medical facilities, medicines and an interpreter where we can. In addition to this, through our Free Shop we provide essential goods not only to the 20 families we house but to a wider network of those in desperate need, helping them to look after their child and themselves with dignity.
