Coram SSF will reach more children across the UK, focusing on giving participants from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to find confidence, resilience, make friends and raise their aspirations for the future - transforming young lives through Shakespeare. As we go into our 21st year, our new Festival is helping children recover from lockdown.

Across the UK, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds struggle to develop the skills they need to succeed - a situation made worse by the pandemic. Research shows that students from low income families who take part in arts activities at school are three times more likely to get a degree, yet schools often have to cut back on arts provision. In the recovery from Covid-19, the life skills and confidence that young people gain from Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation are more important than ever.

CSSF gives all young people the confidence and skills to succeed, not just those at the top of the class. Our Festival (including teacher training, students workshops, curriculum resources and vitally, performances in the community) will have a focus on those lacking creative opportunities. We want every child to exceed the expectations of their families, their teachers, their communities and themselves. As an antidote to Covid-19, CSSF will help bring a sense of belonging - and help young people to have fun!
