Our project is a 30-week training programme for new volunteers who are wishing to help on the riding sessions. This will secure the future of BRDA for the coming years as we move into the post covid19 world.

Each week some 80+ disabled people – adults and children, both mentally and/or physically disabled have riding sessions at our centre. Volunteers are needed to help operate the centre, from fundraising and office administration, through to helping with the horses, the tack and the disabled riding sessions themselves. Covid has changed how we work and without trained volunteers, the charity cannot run.

30 week training programme for new volunteers who are wishing to help on the riding sessions. Because of the inherent risk of working around and handling horses, we cannot allow volunteers to help on these sessions or on basic tasks such as grooming horses until they have completed this training and gained their certification. Each “batch” of volunteers would consist of 10 people to make sure that everyone has the right support to be able to fully learn to the best of their abilities.
