Situation
We are facing a crisis: the climate is being destroyed and civic freedoms are deteriorating. Rampant abuse of power is pushing the world to breaking point as governments and big corporations all too often go unchecked in their exploitation of our planet and its people. Without action to challenge these abuses of power, global warming will cause irreversible harm to our planet, leading to extreme threats to biodiversity and increasingly devastating consequences for people.
Solution
Together, with your help and the help of our allies, we will challenge abuses of power and expose and change the systems that accelerate climate breakdown. NGO Global Witness will achieve this through hard-hitting investigations, campaigning and advocacy across three separate but interconnected climate campaign goals to: - End the destruction of climate-critical tropical forests - End the killing of land and environmental defenders - End support for the fossil gas industry
