Dementia can be devastating. As the condition progresses, it reduces capabilities making formerly everyday activities a huge challenge, draining confidence and leading to an acute sense of isolation. A diagnosis is often accompanied by the perception that people are no longer able to contribute to society and consequently can be marginalised. Crucially, those affected need an understanding, normalising environment for a shared activity that sparks joy, restores hope and reduces isolation.

FMNC is testament to the potential of song, music & shared creativity to enrich and enhance lives. Our choirs provide a safe, supportive and normalising place to make friends and share experiences. Our whole ethos is to create singing communities where joy and laughter are the norm, providing a weekly escape from the relentless everyday caring routine. We provide a meaningful artistic platform to express the experience of living with dementia and in doing so educate others and breakdown barriers
