Lack of opportunity and the achievement gap between SEND and non-SEND children National research shows that children with SEND are less likely to experience play and learning opportunities than their mainstream peers. Despite all the work we do in this country with children with SEND, the gap between them and their mainstream peers continues to widen. Without access to high quality early years’ education, this inequality is likely to continue.
Within our three centres, we run a Learning through Play programme for children with SEND. Running through the academic year these sessions are run under Ofsted standards using the Early Years Foundation Stage, and aim to give every child with an additional need the best early intervention support and education.
