Big change starts locally and our pioneering community uses music as a catalyst for change. Our free music education programme aims to reduce local inequalities and improve community cohesion in one of London’s most complex inner-city boroughs.

The PMF brings together a wide network of local people to tackle ongoing issues of inequality and access to opportunity. Despite appearances, Pimlico contains areas of considerable deprivation and we aim to create a level playing field for all residents. Some families face multiple barriers to engagement in extra-curricular & cultural activities, which improve engagement at school, further education options and better job prospects later in life. We are determined to change this.
We provide a free music education programme in five local primary schools, as well as an extra-curricular Children’s Choir, a cross-community Adult Chorus and a programme of excellence, the Foundation Scholars. Every stage in the programme has clear and accessible progression routes, which is key for nurturing talent and maintaining engagement. Every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential and our programme is committed to nurturing each and every one of them.
