Half-term breaks, while been a great opportunity to rest and rejuvenate, present several problems for teens from low-income and BME backgrounds. Due to lack of motivation and social barriers, they lack social opportunities and often isolate during this time. They also tend to snack on and off during the day rather than eating healthily and in general do not spend half-terms productively. These exacerbate their poor time-management skills and lead to bad life-long habits.

Teens will get together during half terms to cook healthy lunch and then eat together. Each half-term day, teens will join a short workshop discussing menu planning, healthy cooking, balanced meals, the day's lunch menu/preparation. They will then join a 1.5-2 hour cooking session, learning new cookery and team-building skills. Whilst food is cooking, they will clean up and set tables, learning presentation skills. They will then spend a relaxed hour enjoying a healthy meal with friends.
