The poorest and most disadvantaged people in Africa are often disabled or affected by HIV & AIDS. For example, less than 10% of disabled children access education or rehabilitation and people with albinism have a life expecancy of just 30 years. HIV & AIDS still causes families in Africa to suffer to sickness, poverty and lack of opportunity. Many affected families struggle access to access services such as antiretrovirals or home-based care needed to improve their lives.

Advantage Africa will support the work and build the capacity of grass roots community groups in Kenya and Uganda so that: (1) Disabled people, including people with albinism, access rehabilitation & cancer prevention services and become self-reliant by generating an income. (2) The spread and impact of HIV is reduced and people affected by HIV to access services including home-based care, and income generation. (3) The stigma and discrimination surrounding disability, albinism & HIV is reduced.
