In Salford there is much poverty/deprivation and social isolation/loneliness esp. for the elderly, with general unhappiness, leading to deterioration of people's health, wellbeing, dignity and personal confidence. This can also lead to mental health problems, stress/depression; unnecessary cost to public medical and other services. People are not obtaining their full financial rights (State benefits) and are not reaching their optimum human potential because of the factors earlier stated.
The centre currently provides welfare, employment law, debt & housing advice. We aim to provide rolling events, getting people to the centre & helping access core services. The events aim to be an introduction to the centre, create enthusiasm and help people access vital services. Events will have a positive immediate impact on a client’s life (Health, hygiene, welfare, confidence & activity levels). Events will signpost people with specific needs into our core services for a longer term impact.
