We want everyone in our community to have the chance to see theatre. Theatre can transform lives for the better: we want to give free tickets to local organisations, young people and families in West London to make sure that, no matter your background, everyone in our community can access the arts.

Situation
We are living in an unfair and unequal society. In Hammersmith & Fulham the poverty rate is 30.5% and 43% of children are in income deprived families. A staggering number of people, and especially young people, face a pervasive inequality of opportunity. The arts are not accessible to those who might most benefit from them due to circumstances beyond their control. We want to change this and it is our duty to ensure that everyone can access the arts to know that this is something open to them.
Solution
We want to give free tickets for Lyric productions to those who need them most including all school children in our borough and the most vulnerable people in West London. We believe that theatre can change lives: it brings people together, gives a moment to escape hardships and broadens horizons. By giving people young or old their first taste of theatre we can ensure that we break down barriers so that everyone regardless of race, wealth, culture, or background knows that the arts is for them.
