  • It is believed there are currently fewer than 3200 tigers left in the wild, with that number still falling as the tiger comes under pressure from habitat destruction, prey decline and poaching. The biggest threat to the few remaining tigers is the illegal trade of big cat products in Asia, particularly China, where virtually all parts of the tiger have commercial value. 4 populations of wild tigers have already been eradicated and those remaining are running out of time.

To stop poaching it is essential that controls are put in place in tiger trading countries to stop illegally poached tiger products being sold and that the international syndicates behind the illegal trade in wildlife are brought to justice.
