In Tanzania, education ends for many children after primary school: only three out of five adolescents, or 52 percent of the eligible school population, are enrolled in lower-secondary education and fewer complete secondary education. Less than a third of girls that enter lower-secondary school graduate.

We will build the capacity of 4 local, community-based organisations in Arusha, Tanzania to deliver a combination of sports sessions and workshops which will equip boys and girls with the skills and knowledge necessary to make healthy choices and reduce the gender barriers that face girls in completing secondary education which include unwanted pregnancies, early marriage, and a lack of sanitary hygiene products and facilities.
