The Grassroots Endowment challenge for Shropshire is an exciting opportunity to double the impact of charitable giving that strengthens your local community. Between 2008 and 2011, because of a special government incentive, every £1 that you give will be matched by a £1 from government, after Gift Aid your gift is worth £2.56.If you are a higher rate tax payer you may claim tax relief so the gift only costs you 75p - more than doubling your impact.

Over the next three years we aim to raise £298.285 which after the match funding will result in a fund of almost £600,000 for the benefit of the people of Shropshire. Any donations that are made together with the match funding will be invested in special endowment funds and invested effectively for the long term benefit of Shropshire groups. Who have we helped? Shropshire Sharks: A swimming club for children and adults with disabilities. They received funding towards coaching fees for a weekly trainer. Bridgnorth Little Learners: This group provides nursery provision with a community ethos. They received funding to provide an outdoor play area of the pre-school which they dedicated to one of their little learners who tragically died at the age of 2 ealier in the year.
