Situation
Tropical deforestation threatens the people and wildlife who live in the forests and depend on them but also the world's climate and thus all of us wherever we live. Over 15% of man made carbon emissions are from forest loss. The "size of Wales" is frequently used as a measure of this problem.
Solution
The Size of Wales will involve people in Wales in supporting the conservation of two million hectares of tropical forest in Africa. It will do this by choosing great projects that are working to reduce deforestation, improve forest management or plant more trees and then find partners in Wales to help support them. It works with individuals, companies, community groups and other organisations and aims to build long term links.
