Since its opening in 2008 the Stephen Lawrence Centre, situated in Deptford, South East London, over 3000 disadvantaged young people have participated in ground breaking educational programmes designed to motivate inspire and equip them with the skills to fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams. The Centre is reliant on charitable funding sources and needs funds to expand its work and help more young people to dream and to achieve their goals.

Situation
In its first year the centre has demonstrated huge demand for it's services, helping to change the future for young people living in some of our most disadvantaged inner city areas and demonstrated unprecedented successes to its donors. The Stephen Lawrence Centre will act as a laboratory for testing new ways of working with young people and in 2009 will expand it's educational programmes to ensure that more young people can take advantage of the opportunities available to them. By expanding proven programmes and investing in the development of existing and new learning methodologies the Centre and the Trust aims to challenge stereotypes, break down barriers to accessing careers in urban design, regeneration and the built environment and inspire more young people to fulfill their dreams and make a positive contribution to society. The Stephen Lawrence Trust requires unrestricted donations to fund the development and running costs of the Centre as it expands it's work this year. Donors can donate anonymously or contribute to specific projects and campaigns including infrastructure development, funding of specific learning programmes, equipment, events or expansion of national campaigns.
