Urgent, major roofing works

The architect’s inspection report for this quinquennium underlines the very real need for major roof works. This major project will not only contribute to the Church’s continued survival but will protect and conserve the ancient stonework from damage and erosion caused by leaking rain water. The project will involve works to the quire roof, north transept, tower & bellcote and north triforium and will take place over a three year period. This vital work will cost in the region of £500,000. We hope very much to win a grant from English Heritage and also the City Churches Grants Committee. However, in order to qualify we shall require funding from generous benefactors as well. This will demonstrate people’s love and commitment to this beautiful old Church which has touched so many lives.
