The Lion Salt Works featured in the second series of the BBC 2 series Restoration. We have also advised the BBC series Coast and Channel 4's Time Team in the ancient art of salt making. Our Director has written the Shire Publications book - The Salt Industry. The Lion Salt Works has been chosen as an Anchor Point in the European Route of Industrial Heritage and has been selected as a pilot project for an Interreg IVb programme, CHANGE being supported by the Mersey Basin Camapign. The Lion Salt Works will become a tourist destination within a proposed Weaver Valley Regional Park. The Trust proposes using biofuels for heating the buildings and would like additional funding to build a working open pan salt works to restore 'block salt' to fine food shops, this product will be branded 'Made in Cheshire'.
