We want to make sure that every seriously ill child has the chance to experience the magic of a Make-a-Wish wish. Many of the children we work with will die in childhood, so every wish we grant could be the last truly happy, care-free experience they will have together as a family.

Situation
Having a child with a life-threatening condition will turn your life upside down. Not only does the child face gruelling treatment schedules, they also miss out on school and the chance to grow up like any other child. They may experience pain and hospital stays, isolated from family and friends. This can place a real strain on the family. Siblings may suffer and it can be frightening to see their brother or sister going through treatment.
Solution
Whether the wish is to meet someone famous, to own a particular item, to visit somewhere or to do something special, the wish brings so much to a child’s life creating special memories for the family that last a lifetime. A wish can help in so many ways: a family break can provide much-needed respite, equipment can help the child to be more independent and meeting someone they admire can be an incredibly inspiring experience.
