There is a significant gap in service provision for the learning disabled both locally and nationally.Aside from the society's weekly Music School,the only musical opportunities available to the learning disabled is by either enrolling on mainstream college courses or hiring a personal tutor.Neither of these options are tailored to their individual needs and they are also too costly for them even to consider.The learning disabled should have the chance to enjoy the benefits that music can bring.

The society's Musical Director will deliver musical tuition to both children and adults with learning disabilities at venues suitable to the clients.Tuition will be given in the special schools,colleges,day centres and residential/supported living homes to open the benefits up to as many learning disabled people as possible.He will also provide teaching resources to teachers,parents and carers to build a wide network of partnerships so that other music schools can be opened across the country.
