Wath is an area of low employment, aspirations, few cultural opportunities and low self-esteem. The aims are to embrace the community through involvement, raise self-esteem and help in economic regeneration. It is about opening up of new cultural aspirations, experiences and skill development especially youth. This project builds on highly successful previous festivals where we expanded the educational and training base in workshops, concerts and with developing skills for children.

As part of our community festival we will work with local schools to get children involved allowing them to help and contribute via professional performing artists. We will run showcase events inc. Youth Acoustic roots competition and “grey roots singer/songwriter. We will run a series of concerts, community events, workshops involving local youngsters and others in organising the event, the project will create a new generation of artists and continue the legacy of Arts in the area
