Weekend retreat for 80 children who suffer from physical, mental & emotional disabilities and who cannot afford to pay for extra leisure activities. The project is planned to take place in The Lincolnsfield Children's Residential Centre in Bushey.

The children we work with suffer from physical, mental and emotional disabilities. They come from low-income families giving them less of a chance to experience any extra activities or learning; they live in the inner city, in overcrowded homes stifling them and preventing them from reaching their full potential in life. They can't access mainstream opportunities because they are poor and lose out out on many opportunities to enjoy their leisure.

We will provide a weekend retreat free of charge. As part of the weekend there will be a wide variety of special activities to give the disabled participants opportunities to develop their gross & fine motor skills and social & independent living skills. The interaction of volunteers with users will develop mutually positive and lasting relationships, improving social and communication skills, continuing long after the project.
