The project will recruit, induct and train BME young people aged 16 to 25 to provide peer mentoring and support to young people aged 11 to 16.

  • Black and Minority Ethnic young people, have stated that they experience racism, bullying, and physical attacks which leaves them feeling isolated, vulnerable and affects their confidence and self esteem. They state they would like access to positive role models and help to complete homework assignments.

    By setting up a mentoring project young people will have access to students who can act as positive role models for the young people. They will work within the after schools clubs and will be able to support young people to complete their school assignments and a listening ear who can provide support on a range of issues that arise.
