We would love to run a series of activities & outdoor sports to help our blind & visually impaired members (young & Old) to do what any full sighted person can do. This will also help them to remain active & keep their independence as they loose their sight. Anything from Archery to swimming.

Situation
We are trying to get those who are isolating themselves, due to sight loss, to come out, get some fresh air, feel safe & to do activities that will keep them healthy, as well as give them confidence. So many of our members feel safer in their own homes & think that losing their sight is the end of the world. But we would like to change this & encourage them to do things that any full sighted person is able to do & sometimes better. Mental health & well being is very important to us.
Solution
Exercise & group activities have been proven to help with depression & state of mind. It also helps to with weight problems, as some visually impaired & blind people tend to move less with their sight loss. It will also help them to build new friendships & speak to people that are going through the same problems. Group activities are sometimes better than medication & counselling, as it builds confidence.
