Supporting sidelined, lonely and vulnerable older people across Coventry by organising a series of holiday days to various locations across the country.

Situation
We realised that there were a large number of older people, many living alone who were being sidelined by society. Many were too frightened or frail to venture out alone on holiday or on day trips. With that in mind we have been running a number of subsidised day trips for these folk under the 'Holiday at Home' banner. Each year consists of a spring trip followed by 6 summer trips and a Christmas trip sometime in December. Local free transport is arranged to bring our clients to the centre before they leave on the coach for their outing. This project is backed up by two friendship groups running on alternate weeks and is managed by our Eldercare manager.
