We estimate that there are nearly 20,000 people living with Parkinson’s in the UK, who do not have access to a Parkinson’s Specialist Nurse. Specialist nurses are a lifeline for people living with the condition. They provide expert knowledge and medical support to enable people to stay independent and manage their complex symptoms. We have provided funds for 350 Parkinson’s Specialist Nurses to date but need more to ensure that everyone affected by the condition has access to this vital service.

Our Parkinson’s Specialist Nurse Appeal will provide funds to train more specialist nurses to offer vital support to the thousands of people, with this devastating condition, who need it the most. They make a real difference by offering guidance on matters such as managing medication or even providing a walking stick to allow people to leave their home and also helping to reduce hospital admissions. It is our aim to ensure that no one has to face Parkinson’s alone.
