Situation
We are currently looking for funding for staffing costs for a Catering Manager and supporting costs for the 3 years to develop the income generating facility. The Catering Manager will not only develop the new facilties but oversee volunteering opportunities in the Restaurant for all ages of the community as well as training opportunities for young people to learn new skills. The Centre is located at the base of the Black Mountains (part of the Brecon Beacons National Park). We already draw in limited numbers of tourists each year. By working with the Tourist Information Team, Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, Local Hotelier, Local Ramblers Society we will develop a joined up service offering visitors a friendly one stop shop, with up to date facilities and information on local walks and venues. The Restaurant and development of services will enable us to attract more income from Tourism to make us less grant reliant. We are also developing as an Arts and Craft Gallery and house the Local Heritage Display.
