The project offers access to computers for Adults with a Learning Disability and their Carers. We offer a personal service, where individuals are supported one-to-one in their homes or local cafe with an iPad. Helping people with communication, accessing information and exploring interests.

Exclusion: Access to information, social communication and services are becoming increasingly Internet based. Without support, access to the Internet is difficult for many people with a learning disability and elderly Carers. Communication Problems: Some adults with a learning disability, also have speech and language difficulties. This can cause social and practical problems for the individual.

With one-to-one support, we can ensure people have access to the Internet. The iPad offers far greater accessibility than a traditional computer and we hope to put things in place to ensure continued access into the future. The iPad and the apps available offer an affordable and accessible solution for people with speech and language difficulties. we are currently working with a Makaton-based app and a simple choice app aimed at PMLD.
