We are currently focusing our attention on working with Schools and community Groups on our Global citizens’ interdependency project. Our aim is to plant edible tropical fruit tree in the rural community around Wumenu
Situation
The focus of this project is to engage young people in where their food comes from, and the issues that surround Global food production and consumption in relations to our interdependency The project will also look at aspects of Europian and African culture heritage. local perchasing power , acknowledgement and reward systems. How could the raw material from a tropical farmer create jobs for drivers ,factory workers, shops market traders , shipping companies and more?
Solution
FWCF uses the experiences of the Wumenu community farm based in the village of Wumenu in Ghana West Africa and the development of their community farm to help inform what we can do in Scotland and England to help developing countries as well as engaging in positive local and international food production for the common good as Global citizens.
