We seek funding to build a new rondavel to re-house the existing computer training centre. Currently this is hosted in the rondavel of one of the Self-Help Group members who initiated the project. There are 10 computers and training material to provide basic computer skills to the community.

There are approximately 14,000 school age students in Swayimane who do not have access to computer literacy programmes in their local community. A large percentage of these students are directly affected by poverty and HIV/AIDS. Many are the heads of households and others live with extended families. The existing computer centre can not expand to meet the demand whist it is hosted in someone else's property.
The purpose of this project is to provide computer literacy to the youth and women on the Self Help Group programme in the Swayimane Valley. A site for the new centre has already been found. By being computer literate, Swayimane youth and adults will be up to standard of other South African students with whom they have to compete for jobs and higher education. It will enhance their ability to seek and find acceptable, sustainable work opportunities while updating their communication skills.
