Our aim is to give families in need and asylum seekers/refugees the gift of a Christmas Hamper. Being in the centre of Gateshead we see a lot of poverty and deprivation, with many people using the Food Bank which is adjacent to our church. A Christmas Food parcel would be a great practical help.
Our Church is in the centre of Gateshead, close to the Job Centre, Citizens Advice, Probation Service and Food Bank. Once a week we run a free breakfast service. This started small but is growing weekly because we are seeing many needy people who are on the poverty line or waiting for Universal Credit to come through. Many asylum seekers use our service too. Feeding people is important to us. A Christmas Food parcel would be vital to see families through the Christmas period.
Buy and collect food, sort and arrange hampers to be distributed in December.
