Situation
An estimated rural population of 823, 281 across 450 villages in the worst flood affected districts of Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Budgam, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi in Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir, and over 27, 700 people in 120 villages in Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan are under threat. Emergency relief supplies are running out and Himalayan cold winter is approaching fast. The victims of Kashmir Floods 2014 needs urgent help.
Solution
Kashmir Development Foundation (KDF) with the help of volunteers and working in partnership with local NGOs stepping up efforts to provide essential support to help affected people and communities to rebuild their lives and livelihood. We will support local communities in their efforts to restore community infrastructure, through a range of rehabilitation, capacity building and community enterprise projects to help in rebuilding a stronger, more resilient Jammu Kashmir.
