    Situation

Leaving care and managing caring responsibilities can present many challenges to young people; many miss out on vital schooling and become isolated and excluded from the opportunities which most of us take for granted. Venture Trust’s Inspiring Young Futures programme helps participants build confidence, motivation, employability and a range of vital lifeskills. The programme consists of a series of phases over 12-18 months, incorporating exploration of local opportunities and services alongside wilderness-based activities and long term, 1-to-1 outreach support, with an emphasis on learning new life-skills such as communication, planning and problem solving. We’ve been thrilled with the outcomes of our participants on the Inspiring Young Futures programme; six months after taking part, 91% of participants are showing increased self-confidence and 85% are showing increased employability.
